Multiplex Liquor Licences - giving evidence, the options...

Many people have written to Bromley Magistrates' Court expressing their opposition to the 14 liquor licence applications by London & Regional Properties. Those who have written have received a form back from the court asking if they wish to give evidence in person or nominate a spokesperson to act for them.

The Campaign is mounting a full legal challenge to oppose the granting of licences to the multiplex at Crystal Palace. If you want us to represent you then please complete the form, which has been sent to you, by showing the spokesperson as "The Crystal Palace Campaign". It does not need to be a specific person.

Of course, you may wish to give evidence yourself or act as a witness for the Campaign. If you do please let us know and we will contact you.

---------------------

To summarise - possible courses of action if you have received the form from Bromley Magistrates' Court:

1: You wish to participate in your own right:

Return the form stating that you will be attending the hearing and do not nominate a spokesperson. Let us know, if you wish, and we will contact you.

2: You want your views to be represented but do not wish to appear yourself:

If you wish to nominate us to be your spokesperson (see above) write in the "Crystal Palace Campaign" on your form and let us know (address below). If you have not already done so, please send us a copy of the letter you wrote to Bromley Council.

3: You want to give evidence and are prepared to appear as one of the Campaign witnesses:

Return the form as in (1) and let us know (address below). If you have not already done so please send us a copy of the letter you wrote to Bromley Council. We will get in touch with you. Not necessarily everyone will be called to give evidence, since it depends on what points are to be made.
--------------------

If you are not one of the people wanting to appear, you can still attend the hearing, although there may be some difficulty in Bromley accommodating everyone.

If you have any other queries about the proceedings, times, location etc. contact Bromley Magistrates' Court.

The hearing has been fixed for the 27th and 28th November 2000 at the Courthouse starting at 9:30 a.m.
